Touch In SOL

Happy Sunday everyone! 🙂

This next review is from Sephora. It is my first time trying out the brand “In Touch SOL”
& let me tell you, I lovee it! I had first encountered this item when my niece got her makeup done & it was one of the shadows the MUA had used on her. The pigmentation is incredible! I’ve always wanted a glitter shadow & it was also metallic?! I’ve never worked with anything like it, I knew I had to get it! There were a number of colors to choose from but I went with the colors that I have been most attracted to this Summer (rose-gold, mauve, copper tones) I picked up 2 eye-shadow duos & definitely had to get their lipstick duo also.

The packaging is shaped like a diamond, not in a regular box. I actually like the shape & design of it. Very cuute & professional graphic image on the box. It is dual sided, where you can visibly see the product & the color scheme choices. I like that it is conveniently packaged in 1 stick with its own applicators. As you can see, the box matches the middle of the duo stick to the type of product. Here, we have the navy blue box matching the navy blue duo sticks indicating it is as an eye shadow, vice versa with the silver being a lipstick.

“Margaret”- Champagne

“Lottie”- Plum
The metallic liquid, is indescribable! & the foil glitter on top ties it all together. The pigmentation is amazing & is an excellent combination. Glitter + Metallic compliment each other so well.

“Penny”- Pink Brown
The applications are similar in color but one has more of a metallic gloss, which you can see some silver shimmer in there.

Both lipstick and eyeshadow have a lip-gloss applicator. For the eye-shadow the lip-gloss applicator is used for the liquid metallic shadow and on the opposite side of stick is a plastic applicator for the loose glitter foil. I was able to apply the liquid shadow with the applicator however, it is a lot of thick product. I would take some on the back of my hand and go in with another brush to pack on the product and easily distribute the shadow a little easier on my lid. This way I had more control of the shadow. When applying the foil, I used the same technique instead of using the applicator it was easier to go in with a brush. I would also spritz some setting spray on my brush so that I get a more pigmented look & so the glitter can stick to the applicator. Keep in mind the loose glitter results in a lot of fall out! **You may want to work fast with the liquid shadow because the liquid shadow dries quickly & that is your base for the glitter to adhere to.

You can definitely see how different the look can portray using light versus without light. This is surely a product worth trying!

Stay bold, stay GOLD 🙂

iluvSarahii – ColourPop

Hey Loves!

I can’t tell you how much I love ColourPop Cosmetics 😀 This is my first time ordering from ColourPop & I can’t wait to place my next order. Inexpensive makeup-line with by far the bestttt quality! I decided to purchase & review the “$aucey Palette” ($18.00) along with an Ultra Matte Lip in the color “Teeny Tiny” ($4.80) +plus a bonus ‘super shock shadow’  in the color “Birthday Cake”.

The colors in this palette is a great color scheme that compliments each one nicely. I definitely was able to utilize all colors in just this one look.

Heavy Glam: A vibrant duochrome orange with a pink flip
Chic Happens: A matte cool mauve
Lit: A vibrant metallic purple
Razy: A matte blackened plum

*Their shadows are incredibly pigmented, pictures do not do it justice!

The Look:

  1. Prime face.
  2. On my lid I used Chic Happens as my base.
  3. Center of my lid I used the color Lit.
  4. Outer-V I placed Razy to smoke out the look.
  5. Applied Heavy Glam to my tear ducts and a little over the color Lit that I applied to the center of my eye-lid.
  6. Voila! Apply eye-liner & add lashes if you wish to do so.
  • Don’t forget to BLEND! 🙂

Silicone Sponge vs. Beauty Blender

This was a requested blog 🙂 to compare two  different make-up foundation applicators. The popular Beauty Blender and the newly released Silicone Sponge.

Beauty Blender($20.00)

How to use: Wet sponge and ring out any excess water and apply foundation.

1. The shape of applicator gives you the accessibility to apply make up in every surface area.
2. Easy to use.
3. Able to control and blend product evenly.

1. Expensive
2. Must thoroughly clean sponge.

Silicone Applicator($5.00)

How to use: Apply foundation to applicator and use on skin.

1. Inexpensive.
2. Easy to clean.

1. Hard to blend product.
2. Heavy.
3. Thick layers (looks cakey and dewy)
4. Wastes product.

As you can see, I used each product on different days just so any foundation wouldn’t go to waste. With the Beauty Blender, it is a very controlling applicator. I especially like that it blends well by adding water, I feel that the product is fully being used. As for the Silicone sponge it felt ‘awkward’ when applying my foundation. Felt very thick and hard to blend. I even had to cheat and use a foundation brush to blend the excess product. Just feels like I wasted a lot of make-up with this tool. Although, the Beauty Blender is on the pricey side. There are dupes that cost just as less as the silicone applicator that are just as effective as the real thing. Silicone applicators are easier to clean compared to Beauty Blenders. Have to put a little more time in cleaning them, than just rinsing them. I would definitely say that between the two…Overall, I prefer the Beauty Blender over the Silicone Sponge. For me, I see more pros with this product & I choose to have a better quality applicator. Price isn’t much of a issue because the only way it is expensive is the brand name.

What works for you!? 🙂

Tarte- Make Believe In Yourself (Eyes & Cheek Palette)

Hey lovelies!

Unicorns must exist because here is another beaaautiful make-up palette by Tarte Cosmetics, their line high-performance naturals. I completely lucked out on this palette because Ulta & Sephora were having a SALE on this palette for $10 off. As soon as I saw that, called my local Sephora to check inventory & it was all sold out buuuuut Ulta did not fail me! Quickly placed it on hold & I am so pleased with this purchase.

A little overview on this product:

  • The colors in this palette reminds me of unicorns or something majestic, hah.
  • The packaging is cute & fun! designed with shapes almost like a kaleidoscope!
  • 10 shades total.
  • PLUUUUS a highlighter.
    • Amaaaazing! I couldn’t even tell there was a highlighter in the palette but it is the center circle pot & it is gorgeouuus! Not at all what I imagined it to look like.
  • 9 metallic/shimmer shades.
  • 1 matte.
    • I thought the matte was pretty random, I understand we need a matte in a palette but I also wish there were more than 1 matte color or at least keep it all shimmer. That’s just me… I like equality. lol
  • Velvet consistency.
  • Very pigmented.
  • Nonetheless, all the colors are beautiful!

I can definitely say I had fun with this one & there are plenty of fun looks you can create 🙂

  • LOOK 1
    • lid: Marvel
    • outer-v: Wings
    • liner: Magic
  • LOOK 2
    • inner-corner: Myth
    • lid: Crystal
    • outer-v: Fairy

Play around with it & just have funn 🙂

Get Ready w/ Me

Hey loves!

Here is my everyday go-to’s for getting ready & out the door. I try to wear as little make-up as possible for my everyday… because I’d like my pores to be able to breathe & I also sometimes have troubled skin. However, I would have to say I pay most attention to my brows & eyes as far as make-up goes.  Because I feel that brows definitely frame the face and for me, eyes really brightens up my features. The following items are products that I swear by & must make a trip to Target/Ulta to grab if I am running low on. I will provide high-end & drugstore options that I am currently using. But the best result is whatever works for you!

Details will be linked below.

Sooo, let’s get started! 🙂

  • First you always want to start off with a fresh face. I go ahead & do my skincare routine that I do morning & night, which is Rodan & Fields.
  • Before applying any makeup i’d like to prep my face with a moisturizer that has any kind of SPF, which is one I use on my step 4 of my Rodan & Fields skincare.
    * It is important to use something with SPF even if you do not plan on being in the sun. Our skin is a sensitive organ & is the number one form of cancer in America. Start preventing.
  • Next I prime my whole face using “Too Faced- HangoveRX” ($32). What I like about this primer is: 1. The smell, lol 2. That it is formulated with coconut water & lastly, 3. It is silicone-free. The fact that it is light-weight is a plus!web_hangoverprimer_closed_2

I use “Benefits’- The POREfessional -Matte Rescue” ($28) & I mainly concentrate where I have large pores & areas that i’m prone to get acne. Which are my cheeks/under eye & T-zone.
* You want to minimize & cover up any pores. This will block make up on the surface of the skin from permeating into your pores, so it will not produce buildup or bacteria.

  • For eyes, I line my water line with “Maybelline- New York’s Unstoppable Liner” ($7.23) in the color Onyx. I will also apply & tight line my lash-line. I also sometimes purchase, “Revlon-Colorstay Liner” ($6) in black.
  • Will grab my “L’oreal Paris- 12 Hr. Infallible Super Slim Liquid Liner” ($8.95) & go over my lash-line once more & this time I use the liquid liner for definition to create a “wing” look.  (I’ve been using these products for my eyes since High School & it’s inexpensive)
  • I will go ahead & use a spooly to tame my brows. Using my “Elf- angled brush“($3) I will lightly outline my brows using “It Cosmetics- Build-A-Brow Pot” ($24) in the color Dark Brown. That is waterproof, 5-in-1 micro-fiber & a crème gel stain.
  • Next I use “Benefits- Gimme Brow” ($24) in the color 5. To make them look fuller but not too harsh using the spooly applicator, that way it looks like natural brush strokes.
  • Onto the face! I do this last in case of any mess-ups that I can just cover up. I have oily skin & on hot weather days I use my “Real Techniques Foundation Brush” & apply “Maybelline New York’s- Dream Pure & Dream Fresh BB Cream” ($8.99) in the color Medium/Deep Sheer Tint. I also alternate between the one with SPF 30 & if I have an acne break out I go with the other kind that has Salicylic Acid Acne Treatment for my skin.
  • As for high-end, cooler/overcast days I go for my “Bare Mineral’s- Complexion Rescue: Tinted Hydrating Gel Cream” ($29.50) In the color Tan 07. Great thing is, it also has SPF 30 & is safe on the skin, breathable & also gives me a dewy finish which is why since I already have oily skin I choose to wear this on less hotter days.

    • I pair this with “Bare Minerals- Blush Remedy Foundation powder” ($28) in clearly nude 07. It is a loose powder that I apply after putting on the Gel Cream, kind of takes away the dewiness when applied.
  • For on-the-go since my Bare Minerals is a loose powder. I use my “MAC- Studio Fix Compact Powder” ($28)  in C40 for any touch-ups throughout the day that stays in my purse.
  • Lashes, I use my “Revlon- Extra Curl Eye Lash Curler” ($5) and curl my lashes before & after application. Using the “Maybelline New York’s- Lash Sensational” ($8.99) in very black. I have always gone to Maybelline for their mascaras. This one in particular gives me volume & a little bit of length.
  • Lips, I like to keep it simple for everyday by keeping them hydrated using “Burt’s Bees” ($3.30) Mango butter or Coconut Pear. Gloss, lipstick or tinted lip balms tend to dry out my lips.
  • Last thing is a quick spritz of body mist, something light & not as strong as perfume. I currently use “Pink’s Limited Edition- Fresh & Clean VACAY” ($10).

& i’m OUT THE DOOR! I’d want to say this simple look usually takes me about 7-10 minutes tops.

*I do not own any rights of the product images.

Thanks for getting ready with me! Until my next post. 😀
